AACTA Awards Driven by MINI

AACTA PITCH WINNER PREMIERES HER 'FOREVER UNEXPECTED' PROJECT AT THE AACTA AWARDS.

AACTA and MINI collaborated for AACTA Pitch: Forever Unexpected – an exciting short film pitching competition.

The Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA) Pitch is a competition that gave filmmakers a fun, unique and innovative place to incorporate MINI’s ‘Forever Unexpected’ manifesto, plus a chance to make their idea a reality!

The winner of AACTA Pitch: Forever Unexpected presented by MINI was OUR GREATEST ESCAPE, from Loani Arman.

OUR GREATEST ESCAPE is about a young woman who is losing her mum to dementia but through an old ritual, finds a way to bring her back. An emotionally raw short film, OUR GREATEST ESCAPE reminds us all that even though life moves on, there always some magic and fun to be had.

Loani is also the creator and co-director of the online documentary MY BODY SAYS - made as part of Screen Australia and News Digital’s Doco180 initiative, the film has over half a million views online. Loani also wrote and directed the Screen Queensland funded short The Mother Load, which she’s currently developing as a half hour series.

OUR GREATEST ESCAPE was premiered at the AATCA awards in December and AACTA will screen the full film at an AACTA event early this year.
